Resurgam BirthingWell8899 is a multi-service doula agency dedicated to the care, support and assistance of women in the community throughout the childbearing years. Through a holistic approach, both mother and baby are able to successfully transition through the first year postpartum. As San Jose's Community Doula, I am comfortable attending to women at home, at birth centres, or at the hospital of their choice. I work with all the hospitals in the Santa Clara Valley.

I am a trident doula/parenting coach/nutrition guide/women's issue advocate, who is firmly committed to helping women wherever they are along the childbearing continuum.

As a doula, I accompany a woman throughout her childbearing year, both antenatally and postnatally. Using many different techniques, I draw upon my knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and clear communication with your healthcare provider so that you are provided with the best birth experience possible.

As a doula, I am trained in various aspects of relaxation, massage, positioning and other respite methods to provide you with comfort.

I began studying as a doula in 2004, and began my doula career in 2005. I continuously maintain currency with the birth communities of Boston, New Hampshire, New York, Florida and California. I strive each day in every way to become the best doula possible for my client. By hiring me as your doula, you also hire someone who has experience working as a maternal-child outreach community health worker, a teacher, a tutor, a certified nurse assistant, has EMT training, and is currently studying to become a CNM(certified nurse midwife).

As to my own personal background, I am of Caribbean heritage, speak Spanish, and have worked with women from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. From Cape Verde to Nigeria, from Viet Nam to Venezuela, I have attended to women from the world over.

Drawing on my heritage and background, and being especially respectful of the culture and heritage of my client, I utilize traditional remedies to comfort, calm and soothe my clients.

Once you have chosen me as your doula, we should meet together your partner at least one time before labour, in order for us to become acquainted. Together, we explore, discuss and plan how we best can work together. At this meeting we discuss fees based on your plan for your birth. Of course, this initial meeting does not in any way obligate you to contract with me or to use my services. This is more to see if there is a good fit between us.
